ok he painted the neck black?? went around the fender logo with a tooth pick.. i dont know what to say about the pups and guard but POOR MUSTANG!@@@#@!!!! anyone think its fixable to a decent extent and whats it worth to put in to it? i feel sorta sorry for it and wanna make it all better..
of course for a WAY lower price.
i have seen worse.
this is what you do,
get aged pearl guard material
get a single for the bridge.
two robroes
and paint the body black.
and then you have a somewhat normal mustang.
well no shit.
he didn't specify if it was just the headstock or the neck itself.
if its just on the headstock, get some 2000 grit and sand around the decal i supose.
lacquer thinner will take off the og finish(obvisously) but we can decuct that the og finish is indeed still under the black paint.
I almost like it... But, not really... I think I jus like the paint on the body, and painted headstocks are cool.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus
im gettin it today for 500 canadian dollars! hes gonna drop it off by the looks of it. sweet cant wait to bring her back to something cool again! anyone want the gibson hunbucker?!LOL
bet its all fucked up and plays like a dog thoigh. and yes its a crime destroying a vintage fender like that. am eagar to hear what its like when you collect it.
$500 is pretty good for a '65, assuming it plays well and is structurally sound. The paint job and mods are all hideous, but with some elbow grease and a small $ investment, it could be made to shine again. Nice score!
