Intonation is almost good-to go on the Jagmaster without adjustments, but it's pretty whack on the Strat right now. There's more than enough range in the bridge to get it right, I just don't feel like doing it all today. There's also a little neck gap on the Strat, but that's due to the SX's whack body measurements. I have no idea how they sound yet, but check back in later or tomorrow.
So I just started playing with the intonation on the strat and I'm running into a bit of trouble. WIth the stock bridge adjustment screws, I don't have enough travel for perfect intonation. Fortunately I have a spare telecaster bridge from which I can rob some longer screws, but it's going to be tricky. Doable, but tricky.

do you think it won't intonate because of slight faults in teh sx's body dimensions?
cause i'd really like to do the same thing...

As much as I'd like to blame the SX, I think this situation would be unavoidable even if I was using a Fender/Squier Stratocaster. Its possible to have decent intonation without any adjustments, but for shit to still be in tune past the 12th fret, some adjustments are in order. I'll document it all though so don't fret.
Right then, so it's pretty much all set at this point. Intonation by ear seems to check out okay. I'll get at it with the tuner in a bit; I just want to go play it now. I swapped all of the bridge adjustment screws with ones from my Squier Telecaster and I managed to get the distance I needed. To do this, I had to convert the vintage style 6-screw tremolo to a 2-screw. This isn't really anything serious, IIRC Fender explains how to do this on their website.
But since I had to leave the screws in place by the two E saddles to keep the bridge on, another tweak had to be made. I bid a fond farewell to the height adjustment screws on those two saddles and instead settled the saddles on the screws (which just so happened to be the correct height). It's stable, trust me. The intonation on those two strings is close enough to get by.
