modded squier strat

Post by dawnofzion »

I decided to modify a squier strat for my younger brother. I threw in some chrome screamer pickups, 3 way toggle, new pots and wiring. I am going to tint the neck and gloss it up. I am also going to age the white knobs to match the aged toggle switch.

This is how it looked when I bought it off craigslist.

Here it is in progress.

I will update when it is complete.

The one good thing about black pearl is you couldn't possible make it look any worse, even if you went all en bluego with it.

I quite like chrome humbuckers on strats. They match up nicely with the bridge I guess.
Shabba.

I always love the big 70s stocks on Squiers.

Not a fan of blue strats in general, maybe daphne blue on a 50s strat.

I actually bought a blank strat pickguard and drilled and stuff for the pots, ect. I only have $100 total in this thing right now....and it actually sounds really good.

Not surprising at all. It looks 1337 and probably plays great too.

Good work man!
