new MIM strats and teles coming out soon "ROAD WORN&

Post by robroe »

fender is going to start making "road worn" MIM strats and teles. a 50's and 60's model of each.
they are going to cost somewehre around 600-800 dollars, have jumbo frets and tex mex pickups
color choices are going to be shit sunburst, boring oly white, and stupid black

seems to me you could just buy a 1995 MIM tele or strat on ebay in sage green or blue agave and it would be road worn already for half the price and be a actual fun color

Mine is going to be way better 'cos it features a colour not suited to Weekend Warrior conventions i.e. TPGay.

My brand new MIA standard p-bass is already road worn because I actually play the fuck out of it. If you want one that looks like that then actually do the work and fucking play the guitar!

so is fender ever going to actually design a new guitar, or are they just gonna sell strats and teles until the sun goes supernova and engulfs earth?

If I'm not mistaken, the most recent model they have in production if the mustang, which is '64.

I don't care that they still make strats and teles, it's just that they make 30,000 almost identical strats, and then 1 mustang and 3 jaguars.

Fender touch small children's genitalia and pay them to keep quiet about it. I don't know who the fuck told them the only thing people like about 50's and 60's spec Fenders is the ply of the pickguard, and how many screws it's held on with... 'cause that's about all they do to call something vintage spec nowadays.

Fender USA hates colour so much, that I'm sure that in a few years time all their guitars will only be available with a coat of flat gray primer.

We have to get the Fender Japan guys to take over the USA/Mexico paint booths. It's our only hope of ever seeing interesting stock colours again.
