Woah dude! I didn't even see this! We NEED more information! I knew you had a Daphne Blue Mustang, if I knew you had this, I would have asked for side-by-side pics because I couldn't settle on one colour until I found the pic of the strat I posted back on page 1.

Mike, re: dings- Yuh, I got it lightly reliced with some checking ect. Not belt-sander like mishaps, but I like the idea of a dinged guitar because I've never-ever-ever bought anything new. Neglected I know :( Heh. I didn't have to pay any extra for it (believe it or not but some companies charge $80-120 to relic! Ridiculous!)

tribi9, re: word smithery- As for building, or putting together, well... do you build a sandcastle or put it together? It's all about context, oh brethren. Do you build a house or put one together? I mean you don't mould the materials used, you don't plant the trees and cut/process the wood, you don't mix the paints yourself from it's molecular form... so ah, I'd say, building is more than adequate in this case. If I were to say building from scratch, then you might have a valid point...

The neck, parts and body have all been ordered and hopefully shipped by now. The pickups will be Bill Lawrences, not blades. I'll try score a GFS Cool Rails for the bridge if it comes in really cheap, and actually try both of them which would be a bit of fun. But we'll see how the monies goes... :)

To me building a guitar just sounds like you're building the body and neck. You know what Im saying? Your point is a little extreme there tho'. I wasnt being a snob. really! Like I said no big deal plus I really like your project dude. Congrats... :)

Heh, that's cool dude. That post was a 'I just woke up and haven't had my tea' kinda post. So apologies for sounding smug.
But regardless if I'm putting this together, or building it, I'm finally buying a damned soldering station!

Oh, my bad. I thought it was you who posted a Daphne Blue Mustang/CAR Jaguar nexto a 4x10 Fender Amp with no knobs or something. Could have been someone else. But regardless, I'd never seen that Blue Tele before! Really nice work dude. Post some more pics if you can!

p.s. I'm about to email your mate now. Collingwood is about an hour from my place but I don't mind traveling up there as it's on the way to my girlfriends house anyway. And the fact that it's a pedal, and not a guitar, I can simply throw it in my bag on public transport. I'll let you know how it all goes, and hopefully it's a simple fix. :-)

Just to repeast the obvious, Daphne/Sonic Blue + Mint guard = Sooper Yumms anyday.

Goodtimes for an excellent combo.

I quite like the maple with the blue, not a fan of the relicing though.

Suede, where did you get the body for that custom? Did you do the finish yourself? I like the binding on the neck.

how come sonic blue jagstangs with mint pickguards look like shit compared to a SBL strat or tele.

i don't even like pearl that much but on a mustang or jagstang it just looks better than mint

So just an update. I just went and picked up both the neck and pickups from mums (I live on campus) which arrived on Friday. The neck feels really, really nice... just like my other Classic 50's but it seems as though this ones a little less 'sticky'/thick in the finish department (which is good). And the pickups are just beefy as fuck.

I suspect the rest of the parts to arrive within the next 24-48 hours if there isn't any delays with the hardware (for some reason G.R Guitars don't do tracking with their shipping... they're a bit difficult to deal with despite having a fantastic range of products at good prices :/)

Pics will come when I have everything... I don't think I'll do a "I'm putting together and this is how you do it" thread as it's been done time and time again and there's nothing I can add to it (I'm just not that talented/original with setups).

So the hardware is taking forever to arrive! The pickups, body and neck have all arrived!
Just got the body today and put it up against the neck... mmm, looking good so far! A bit 'white' for my taste but I'm sure the parchment pickguard will help counteract that with added tobacco stained mojo. Anyway, here's a few sneak peaks.

Still waiting :(

Doesn't seem there's much interest in this so I'll only post once I've finished in the guitar section.
Cheers for all the tipz so far to those who have helped :-)
