I like Smashing Pumpkins, but Billy Corgan is a wank with a wank signature guitar.

I liked a couple songs on Mellon Collie, but that's it. I think Billy Corgan is a douche, as well.

I'm a huge Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan fan, but even I find this guitar unattractive on all points.

I dunno, I don't think he's a wank really. I don't agree with a lot of what he says and his guitar is definitely bland (what about it is really "70s styling" besides the headstock? he should have made it faux burst) but he seems like a cool guy. he just has his opinions. like most creative people do.

I find him arrogant and self-centered, but respect everything he's done except the last 2 smashing pumpkins albums and the recent smashing chumpkins album. And Zwan. And his solo album. Can't hack it outside the 90's, innit. He also thinks he invented alternative rock, which gets old after the 4th time he mentions it in each interview.
This "the modern rock charting bands all rip me off" stuff is not on, and all the "look at me" shit regarding the pumpkins reforming was lame, and when I was visiting my brother on the Sundance resort in Utah (shithole) the Fake Pumpkins showed up and Corgan's personal chef came to talk to my bro about patting down sausages so they don't have grease on them, because it goes straight to Billy's big fat head or whatever, ARRRRGH my brother was so excited they were there and shit and there he is going around like he's JLO, I had to pretend I was excited too, fuck Billy Corgan.

And his Smashing Pumpkins strats were way cooler than his new ones, even if it would mean YET ANOTHER 50's spec strat with lace sensors for Fender, at least there'd be people interested in them.

Good guitar player though. USED to be a good songwriter, pre-Adore.

Fuck all of you peasants. You don't know what it's like to be rich and famous like Me and Billy. ITS REALLY REALLY HARD, and we deserve everything wonderful and perfect. If you weren't all so stupid and petty, us famous people would be cooler with you.

I remember an interview with Corgan before they released Mellon Collie, he name dropped Judas Priest constantly on influences of writing the album, he seemed a bit more humble in those days. I also remember when he announced the end of the band and said "we can't keep up with the Britneys", lol, Britney could'nt keep up with herself either it turned out. I found that comparison rather odd. Did he expect mass appeal?
Saw the Chumpkins live last year and it was a huge anti-climax, most reformed bands put on a great show but no, not Billy. Completely ignorant and arrogant. Just like his 'Godfather of Alt Rock' or whatever title he's calling it statements.
Dont get me wrong, i was a fan for years and love some of his work but this signature Strat baffles me. Its also an insult to some of the longer serving Strat players as well.
