Competition Jag on the go. Rob(Og)

Post by tribi9 »

I didn't like the first shade of blue, so I had to start again from scratch. I never used a grain filler the first time so it was little bumpy, the second time around I did Sanded, grain filled, primed and second coat. (Top only). And that's where Im at.

Love? Hate?

I want a white guard now tho'

that is a nice piece of wood. Shame to cover the grain, but it's a Fender. That's how we do. Nice job.

I think it will look nicer once is clearcoated and with a pearloid guard. Rob(OG), Would you make me a guard if you have time? :D

I was going for the same shade as this....
Beatch

I'd love to have a Mustang in that shade of blue, I think they look sexy/. :o

The guitar had some orange peel, I wet sanded with 800 and put some of that meguiar crap on it (Its looking smooth now). I think I might spray another coat as the edge was a little thin.then I'll wetsand up to 1000-1200 then Nitro this beatch!!

Any tips?

Looks beautiful, imo
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

How about some dodgy looking comp stripes?

Top still needs a few coats to go...

I think I want to do the proper comp. stripes I think the measurements were posted, weren't they? Must do search.... :?

Edit: she's gonna be a cross Jag/Jazz/Servicemen?

So I'm leaving the stripes the way they are...

doing your own take on the competition stripes isn't a bad idea, but i would go a bit thinner then what you currently have as the top stripe looks very exaggerated by the contour of the body in comparison to the bottom one

Well, after doing some thinking I decided to make the proper (or closer looking to the proper) comp lines so here we go take 3.....

Sorry, masking tape still on.

A new shade of blue on the body but the lines will still be the same color as before. NAPA gave me a free can of paint, cuz the other can was spitting like a mofo. (As you can tell by the first fake stripe picture) :x

I think they're more visible in the pic than in real life. IMO the hardware works a lot nicer now, with the new color scheme.

I'll need to buy a Jag decal, Unless someone wants to swap me a Jag neck for a Jagstang one? :P
