my latest build completed

Post by dawnofzion »

I just finished my latest project and thought I would share it. It is a goldtop les paul copy with a poplar body, mahogany neck, creambuckers, keystone tuners, adjustable wraparound. It plays and sounds great. It actually plays easier and better than my friends $2400 Gibson Les paul.

I have never been a fan of les pauls at all, but I really like the look and feel of this guitar.

That's awesome. What all did you do, specifically? Is it a Warmoth or did you do it all? I've always wanter to build a guitar all the way through...
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

Knowing his previous builds, he built it himself.

Seriously good going mate.

altho, last night when i looked at i thought something looked off and this morning i realized what it was.
its that fact that im conditioned to seeing body binding.

I bought a les paul copy off craiglist for the neck (sold the body) and bought a blem body off of ebay. The body needed a lot of work....as did the neck. I had to route out the body for proper neck placement.

Here is the body how I got it. It was beat up pretty bad.

Here is the neck from the other guitar.

Here it is after I had stripped it all back and glued the neck on.

I was going to make it all from scratch but I got the body and neck so freaking cheap that I went ahead and used them.
