Finished finboy's fuzz factory and built the board for Benecol's Fuzz FaceMike wrote:Done and Posted
1. Stewart's Green Big Muff - Green, Green LED, Mustang knobs - posted.

Done
3. JD's Fuzz Factory - Completed.
4. Finboy's Fuzz Factory - Completed
In progress:
5. Benecol's FuzzFace with Fuller mods - parts ordered. Going to be in a BB case with battery power a must, jacks on the top, portrait style, pink LED if it's not just white, Green if the LED looks crap. Silver. Silver and Black knobs. Board built
6. Ebay Big Muff - takes lowest priority obviously. Board built, not tested

The simple circuits sound the best, mate.
Plus the extra Bias and Contour controls are going to be interesting. I'm waiting on your case which should turn up next week. If it arrives Monday or Tuesday it would be ideal since I can drill it when I'm at my folks on Tuesday, if it arrives after that I'll have to drill it on Sunday when I'm in the neighbourhood for an Acoustic practise ahead of our Cancer Research benefit gig.

Fair enough. I'll definitely have it done by then, like I said, the case will definitely be drilled Sunday if not before, and I'll be priming it and painting it that night, and clearcoating Monday. I'll probably be able to assemble it towards the end of next week I hope.benecol wrote:There really is no hurry at all - not my birthday for another three weeks yet, and I'm pretty much brassic 'til payday anyhow.

we have the same pedalboard stewart, is yours the one with the skull and crossbones on?stewart wrote:the muff arrived this morning, had a play about with it and it sounds great! i'd say tonally it's a bit darker than the NYC muff but with more definition and less hiss when you turn the tone past 3/4. and it's tiny, which means i've got space for another pedal on my board. result! well done mike.
my tonenbender arrived today, and what a fucking great fuzz pedal it is. it's a lot more vintage than my classic fuzz. i'm a bit closer to that prog-rock 70's that i hear in my head.

Sweet.
You guys have no idea how happy it makes me to see things I built on your pedalboards. Thanks very much for the pictures and for the orders. I've got stewart's cash, whenever you can get yours to me is fine, Rob. I'm tentatively saving for an ill advised purchase so that's where the cash is heading.

Nice. How does the virtual battery work? Isolates the positive ground pedal from the others?Progrockabuse wrote:i'm going to get one of those gigrig virtual battery things, so i can run it on a diago power supply. that's my next purchase, diago.
Diago power supplies are great. You're also on the right track with my top secret purchase.

i think that a virtual battery might as cheap as getting another boss type supply, plus less cables.

no, it has iron crosses on it instead. when i first decided i wanted a coffin case they were having problems with distribution and it would have been a 3 month wait, so i got that one from ebay cheaper than GAK were doing them.Progrockabuse wrote:we have the same pedalboard stewart, is yours the one with the skull and crossbones on?
those virtual battery things look pretty good, my splitter takes two 9Vs and there's no warning before they die. i may invest...

I could never top your Fuzz Factory demo mate, it was perfect.
I could knock a little one up at some point though I guess, I've pm'd JD about this being finished but he hasn't got back to me, I think he's on holiday or something, or maybe has a real life. Does anyone have his mobile number to drop him a text and let him know it's done?
