I have a kit that I haven't built yet. With some peer pressure, I might jus do it, but I've been feeling lazy.

Just do like 300thousand youtubers do. Use a photocell on a squarewave generator and call it a theremin. OH WAIT, NO, THAT WOULD BE STUPID.
