affinity duo sonic to mutant mustang???

Post by chief bromide »

howdy... i'm new to this forum.

i've been lurking for awhile...here's my first question:

i'm trying to mutate the affinity series duo sonic reissue that i recently purchased on the cheap.

First step: I would love to replace the warped white-ish-turning yellow pickguard w/ a red tortoise shell mustang/duo sonic II one.

i've spent a fair amount of time looking but can't seem to find a duo II guard which i assume would fit the affinity 3/4'' scale....

any suggestions where to find one or would a vintage mustang guard fit???

You might want to just make your own if you can't find one... Look for pick guard blanks.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

vintage mustang and duo pickguards wont fit. the 90s duo sonics are a completely different shape.

wd music has pickguards for them, though they can be pretty expensive

but adding a mustang trem would be simple enough.

the slots where the pickups go won't line up with any mustang guard. vintage or japan.

i know ive tried.

if you want a mustang/duoII/musicmasterII you are going to have to take down the measurements of where the routes for the pickups go and put them onto a tracing of the new pickguard taking note of how far away they are from the neck pocket and where the bridge goes on paper
