Gearmann, dude?

Post by yaksox »

Hi,
I'm putting this in the effects n amps section because this guy reviews pedals.

Maybe you've seen a couple.

There's speculation that gearmanndude is in fact Jack Black as seen in High Fidelity (2000) and School of Rock (2003).
I can't put a finger one way or the other as to whether GMD is Black.
And so I'm wondering of the brainstrust here might know anything or be able to spot anything in any of his vids that would settle it.

It's clearly not Jack Black, but a guy who sounds vaguely like him. For starters, Jack Black isn't remotely interested in gear, electric guitars or pedals. He'd never even played an Electric Guitar before he made "School Of Rock".

He does make good and amusing demos though, but he's not Jack Black.

What about this tenacious D thing -- some kind of band. All that kind of stuff was adding up. Good friends with Dave Grohl. Would make sense that he could afford all that shit or be buddys with high-end shop owners in La. Plus having the dough to set up a play-studio like that -- that might be one of the most telling vids for anyone who knew anything extra -- this one:

I just watched KungFu Panda, and man, those vioces are preeety damn similar...
