it's a weird moving filter-y thing. the bassist in my band has one and if he puts a fuzz pedal through it first it goes totally mental. it's completely unpredictable.
As much as I'd advocate anodized guards on sunburst Jazzmasters as only second to brown tort, I can't stand the look of the above on the poor unsuspecting Tele and am actually puzzled as to the intent.
Yet more puzzling is the enthusiastic wave of support that follows it within the thread. Bubbles is right, there really likely is only one decent choice for the pickguard, and it's not the above.
The gold bothers me most cause of the chrome, but I think I would throw up if it was all gold.

The EHX Q-Tron is based on it and the same guy worked on it i do believe i read somewhere, but it is'nt rated anywhere near as good. I'd love a Bi-Phase as well.
