The other guitarist in the band I play with is looking to off load his marshall, and wondered if I wanted to trade my peavey classic 30 with his amp...
Should I jump at this trade... ? I think his amp is probably about a year old where as mine is virtually brand new... he's basically just wants a no gimmics simple to use amp...
anyone with any knowledge of this amp ?

Unless you're looking to make a quick buck, give it a proper go with your own gear. It might have more channels and shit, but if it ain't "working", you'll regret it.
O.k. cheers for the info... tbh I'm very content with the classic 30 so I'll stick with it. It has really come to life when cranked up to a decent volume.
I can assure you though mike, he's not trying to fuck me over... he's pretty laid back & is just lookin' to plug in and play, as he's fairly impatient when it comes to gear... we mutually came to a discussion about trading, and it was probably I that raised the subject if at all. He's been using it at the rehearsals so I've heard it, and also tried it briefly yesterday with my own gear... nothing wrong with the amp.

O.k... point taken.. decision maded. I'll stick with the Peavey.
