From all the reviews I hear about it, it sucks...so I'm not sure if this post was sarcastic or not.More Cowbell wrote:I've got this crazy idea...Why not just buy a JAG-STANG. You'll have your mustang bridge, Jaguar body, Mustang neck, and a HUMBUCKER. Everything you need.
the humbucker was just a thought, I wouldn't do it for a while if I get a mustang, I don't even know if i'd do it forsure yet. Like I said I really liked the feel of the mustang. eventually i will get both, but it's just a matter of time....I'm going to be working for the next year, no bills to pay or anything, so I'll have lots of cash to usse for guitars.
but like I said before I buy anything I will try the guitars out, both of them. I've given thought to getting a cyclone or a tornado, but they're discontinued, and I don't want to get one on ebay (trust issues), and it will cost me a fucking fortune to have a wormoth one, with the shipping, and then the duty..

You have just described a Jag-stang.ultraviolence wrote:I like my jagmaster alot, but I have always really wanted to get a Jaguar or a Mustang.
I played one of the RI mustangs, and i thought the neck was absolutely perfect
I played one of the expensive Jaguars 1962 RI (1500$) I liked it
change the bridge to tune-o-matic....that's only if the mustang bridge is as bad as people say....also....would it be hard to put a humbucker in the bridge?
If I get a Jaguar, I'd switch the humbuckers to DiMarzio PAF, and the DiMarzio Super Distortion, change the bridge to one of the three i mentioned above.... Maybe change the switches too.
Those people won't think much of a Mustang either. They're both great guitars when set up.ultraviolence wrote:yeah but 99% of people that talk about it don't think much of itBacchusPaul wrote:The Jag-stang is more or less exactly the same guitar as the Mustang except with a different body shape and a humbucker in the bridge.
Fuckit, you clearly know more about this stuff than I do. Buy whatever you think will make you sound more like Kurt Cobain or whatever.

Well, the only reason I wanted to change the bridge is because I was mis-informed, and the humbucker was just a thought, that I guess seemed better than it actually is.More Cowbell wrote:You have just described a Jag-stang.ultraviolence wrote:I like my jagmaster alot, but I have always really wanted to get a Jaguar or a Mustang.

uuhhhh....didn't know that, but I know that cobain didn't like it, and I also don't know anywhere that I could test it out....so that's a problem.BacchusPaul wrote:Those people won't think much of a Mustang either. Naw, I meant he didn't like the jag-stang, I know he was supposed to use that as his main guitar on the in utero tour, but he barely used it, if I see one in a pawn shop by some slim chance, or if I see one at a friends house (even less likely) I'll give it a try, just cause Cobain didn't like it I shouldn't rule it out obviously... but I won't buy a guitar from ebay, and I won't buy one from warmoth, so unless I see one at a pawn shop i probably won't get one till fender re-issues itBacchusPaul wrote:Kurt Cobain didn't like the Mustang? Is that why his signature guitar is a modified Mustang?
That's balls.
Hahaha.
Seriously mate, you have to take a risk sometimes, I bought my jazzmaster and my jag without having played either and I love them both. If you get a good deal you should be able to get your money back, if you decide you don't like it, by reselling it.
Personally I'd just buy a jaguar HH and change the pickups, then you've got the gibson style bridge and it's already routed for humbuckers, obviously.
(Yes I said this on the first page but that was a drunk post, didn't explain my reasoning).

CYCLONE - PROBLEM SOLVED. IT'S LIKE EXACTLY WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DESCRIBING. YOU ALREADY HAVE THE JAGMASTER SO YOU'VE GOT THE JAGUAR THING COVERED. BUY A CYCLONE.

cyclone looks interesting, only problem is the fender one doesn't ship to Canada...and the Squier one didn't specify where it ships too.DuoSonicBoy wrote:http://cgi.ebay.com/Fender-Squier-Cyclo ... 286.c0.m14

and for the extra 100$ I'd rather get a fender than squier
I know; I'm just getting pissy cause this guy talked about wanting a mustang with a HB and a strat trem and everyone posted cyclones and he's not getting it.robroe wrote:didn't i just post 20 photos of cyclones?
Also, put anything through a Big Muff and it'll be grunge city. HBs don't matter through a BMP.

I've owned every one of the guitars you're considering.
if you buy a jaguar you're in for a rude awakening. the pickups are extremely thin, they're bright and they're hard to setup. it is not a nice upgrade for a jagmaster.
Cyclones are really nice. But yeh Jag-Stang is probably the most fun guitar i ever played. best neck ever. f#ck people saying its rubbish, they're great guitars.
