do you have to use 10's or above or not? does it need to be nickel?
I would have given up already if it wasn't for the impending revolution!

Nope. You can use just about anything you want. Make it a Bass VI and put fat bass strings on it (you may have to block trem for that, though)!

Hey Skip,
Welcome to the boards!
You might consider putting all your questions in one thread when they all pertain to the same guitar.
I'm sure you'll love your jagmaster.

There are no rules. Whatever gauge you choose, just be aware that they will feel slinkier and looser on the shorter scale. Most of us use heavier gauges (11+) because of this, but it's not necessary.
Nickle, Steel, silver - doesn't really matter as long as they're not acoustic strings.

for some reason I'm having trouble with fret buzzing on my jagmaster, I use Ernie Ball reinforced 9's (so much longer lasting
), but even right after I changed it, when I play without my amp on I hear fret buzzing after the 13th fret on d string

Check the relief on the neck - it might have flattened out or back-bowed a bit. If not, just hike up the D a touch.

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to fucking around with my guitar, so I really don't know what you mean..

Adjust the bridge saddle on the D string...upwards...with a small allen wrench.
Take your time, do it in very tiny increments...
