Lovely.

My Mustang has a tinted gloss neck, I have to admit it does look a lot nicer than the slightly anemic clear on the Baja Telecaster.

Just as a question of aesthetics I quite like the very pale maple that fender has been using lately.

I didn't plug it in, but it was nice and bright unplugged, neck was thinner than my tele's. It was faded white/cream with a black pg. No price tag, meaning these rednecks are prolly asking more for it. The headstock logo was old skool too.

I've not heard a bad thing about these guitars... there's been quite a hype about them.

There's 3 demos on you tube btw for anyone who is interested... very recent !!

My work is getting one in on monday/tuesday.... if I approve it'll be coming home with me... :D :D

I reckon with my staff discount it'll be about £190 ish... :D

I saw one of those today, too. I didn't play it, but it looked really nice. Nice finish on the neck, no fret sprout. They also had the classic vibe 50's strat, and that was very tempting. But I was looking for the 60's Jazz bass and they didn't have it. I've been looking all over NYC and I haven't found one yet.

from where your thumb rests on the back of the neck...yes. Fretboard width wasn't but pretty close.

thing that impresses me most about this guitar.

it sounds the same thru like 5 different amps here. it has its own voice, and it sounds fucking good thru whatever.

I just went to have a look along Denmark St for one... nothin' in site... :( I hate Denmark St... lot's of bad attitude there !!!

I did check out the classic vibe strat though for its build quality... and it was lovely !! Sounded nice too, kept having to look at the headstock to make sure it wasn't a Fender... the guy in the shop was impressed too... most haven' heard about this series of guitar...
... "the tele is made of pine..."
"what, pine ? Are you sure.. "
"yup... like the Esquires... the original prototypes for the tele "
reverts back to his boss... "this lads saying the orignal prototype squiers were made of pine... "
*sighs...

Goin on what the strat sounded like I'll prob be gettin one... the neck was lovely !! no sharp frets !! and a nice piece of maple too...

Soooo - in the vid with the 3 champs: What did the Mercury Magnetics mod do besides making the amp really noisy and shitty sounding?

The tele still sounds good, though.
