hi guys
I'm back with a shortscale project
some of you already built Jazzuars
I'm in the way of making one and I was wondering what kind of pups to put in ?
I've a set of MIJ, but I think they will be to trebbly with the shortscale?
I love the SD Ant1 that I've in my PartsMaster
what do you think? AVRI, SD?
thanks.

I'd go for the AVRI over the MIJ ones if you can get hold of some, though I couldn't say what I'd prefer out of the AVRI and SD, though if you have the latter in your partsmaster then perhaps try some different ones? Or if you know you like them a lot, use the SD again?

I've tried the AVRI in a Jazzmaster and I didn't really like the bridge pup.

here's some pics

few month ago I bought a non original Jaguar body
It's a nice red, near Dakota red, but it seems it will never cure...
it has marks from the bubble warp, it sticks to every surface I let it on.
and it dents very easily, so I'll have to refin it but don't know wich color combo.

monday I got in the MIJ Jaguar neck in the mail

here's what I have to put on :

Jaguar body, neck, look and Jazzmaster pups.
I dont' know which pups I will use
I have a set of CIJ, but I think I'll try to find some SD Antiquities II or perhaps QP's

but I was thinking painting it IBM or charcoal frost with a black pickguard
aged white pups covers, JM 3-way toggle switch, thin switch, one master volume, no tone, and only a kill switch on the upper plate.

some pieces are still missing
(tremolo screws, pups, pups srews, jack control plate, 3-way toggle switch, 2 black slider switches)

what do you think ?

Looks good, I like your ideas.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

I already built a Jazzblaster with WRs
I want a Jag with a wider sound, but not with humbucker.

i went thru all the colors i could think of with black pickguards and charcoal frost actually would look the best. i also thought Inca Silver might look cool along the same lines. very monochromatic looking

Basswood? Nice job. That's never fun. Now is the fun part--everything else.
