DAPHNE 78 BRONCO DONE

Post by DGNR8 »

This is the heavy alder body I bought from DDDave for $60. It is the heaviest shortscale I have ever owned, which includes a few other 70s alder models. I was sorry to hide the grain (mostly--you can see it on the back), but my Mary Kay white was fucked up and I have my favorites. (It would have been tempting to paint another Fiesta, but I know a few of our northern members would HANG ME). Sadly, it is missing the trem sleeve that allows it to WORK. But the idea of an adustable hardtail has some appeal. I am using the cream guard that DDDave sent with it, but I have a black one on the way, along with a black overwound (GFS quarter pounder). It doesn't say Bronco, and it could stand to be shielded, but it's one sweet little guitar. I put the rails in it to make sure it worked. My Lil 59 doesn't seem to have the same output, or in any case, I had trouble getting much sound out of it. I think I will GIVE that one away.

This is my favourite of all the guitars you've fixed up.

Are you selling it?

I would not change a thing on that guitar. The color, pickguard and pickup are perfect just the way they are.
Nicely done!

What a cute guitar. Always nice to see a project thread from you, DG. You make some pretty consistently classy stuff that's lovely to look at.

That's exactly what I was going to do with my bronco project! Then Reranch decided to not sell any of their products for like 3 months becasue the guy was going to some fucking chilli cookoff or something so I just went with Duplicolor paint that was kinda like a mix between LPB and Sherwood Green... looks good... but it's not daphne.

I got the tuners from Fullerplast. They came on his desert sand Duo. I forgot to mention it. I am planning to sell ll of these. But I am going to wait until Ig et back from Denver to even think about stuff. I haven't even poasted the finale yet.

Yay for Daphne Blue! I've almost got mine ready... just waiting on my bridge blade-bucker. (I just got my Tonerider neck pickup in the mail...)

That looks ace man, I love Broncos and I miss mine a lot! The necks on those are fantastic!
