Straplocks (Hurb et al)

Post by Mike »

So I'm thinking of getting some Straplocks, and I'm a total newbie with them. Do you need to use a special strap also or can any strap be retrofitted with them?

What locks did you have on your guitars, Hurb? Dunlop ones?

Any recommendations/links? I imagine you have to take off and replace the current strap buttons?

This is the style I use mike.
You can use any strap, but once there set up for the locks You cant use em on another straplockless guitar unless you take the bolty thing off. and it comes with the special strap buttons to put on your guitar. their awesome and well worth not having a dinted guitar.

I flirt with death every time I buy a new guitar, drinking the two beers (never at the same time, mind) necessary to get the rubber straploc things; nowadays, it causes me to enter a shamanistic alcohol trance where I meet my animal spirit guide, and we battle my demons in the sky above the amazon, while the gods look on.

These have always been fine for me, and I'm pretty energetic when I'm posing in front of the mirror.

I would about to recommend these.

They are dual design Dunlops that you gave to attach the things to the strap but you can use normal straps with them as well and the end is a bit larger so normally securer as well.

Cheers boys. The ones I bought Hurb, you can clip them in and out right?

I'm unsure about leaving the strap on the Mustang as it hangs on the wall, the cats might go apeshit on it and pull it out

Straplocks are a must have purchase... they both work well I think...

I prefer the kind you've bought though... I also think they enhance the body shape too...

like a frame does for a painting...

BUY: schaller

FUCK: zeppelin & dunlop

i'd already learn't mah lesson on the dunlops, but when it came time to get strap locks for the hh jag, guitar center was without my beloved schallers. i took a risk on the zeps and OH MY FUCK do i regret the decision. i know deadpenny gave them an opposite grade, but they suck. first, they were hard as fuck to get off the guitar, and now they won't stay on. WTF IS THE FUCKING POINT IF THE GUITAR FALLS OFF ANYWAY? pure shit.

in fact, i notice that pretty much all of schaller's products tend to be top of the line for whatever category they are. . . i know there aren't too many fans of locking tuners here, but the their models are far superior to sperzels which just dig into your fucking fingers. schaller FTW.

One thing, try and buy a product that isn't going to stop selling...

What I mean is, you may want to put em on all your guitars and all your straps, and if you have to suddenly get a dif. brand that isn't gonna lock with your other stuff - then you're kinda screwed...
