MOSRITE CELEBRITY DONE!
This poor SOB was stripped down to the nuts when I got it, so I had to cobble together pieces and parts. Luckily, all this stuff is available now as repro or NOS. I bought a few MIJ pieces, and a few other from Semie Moseley's brother. You may still prefer the pissed-on red one, for its authenticity and character, but this one is every bit as percussive, and has all new parts and wiring. The bottom line is that you almost never see these, so it feels pretty good to get one back on the road. The cavity guard on this one makes it simple to get to the wiring. Since this was my third archtop, by the time I got to wiring it (according to vintage specs, but with shielded wires), it was not a big deal to get right. The burst was a failed Mosrite burst that I turned it into an homage to Pat Smear's honey burst Celebrity. I have the pic somewhere in all of this shit.

That's the guy. He has knobs and all sorts of factory parts available. I don't know how the necks would be. Are they fretted? Mosrite used a totally different kind of fret wire that makes it a very low profile. The neck is super fast, but still has nice clarity. The thing about archtops is the banjo-like presence they have. Even unplugged they are booming. I have no idea what woods they used.
The burst was just neck amber with light coats of burst color number two, which is a reddish brown. I know bursts are heinous, but they have an old tradition with archtops and acoustics.
