James started a thread about building a clone for the fuzz factory, and odd as it may seem, I had been researching the same thing, I made this thread so I'd stop posting in James thread.

Its built from Radio Shack Parts.

I want to make a BOBA FUZZ too.

I think total parts was around $40, box, knobs, caps, resistors, transistors, board making kit, switch, led, wire.

That looks brilliant. I'd put the white washer on the inside to allow more Jango. So you've kept the silicon transistors?

Yeah I kept the silicon, I like the way it sounds now, so I dunno what AC128's would do. I'll keep it as is.

Did you use sockets so there wouldn't be soldering involved if you switched? If you did, get a couple and try it. if you don't like it build something else using them.

I made a few of these some years back. The AC125's gave a warmer sound which was more controllable with the guitars volume control. Silicon seems more aggressive and less controllable, but they are more reliable.
There was a UK supplier of Fuzz kits but he disappeared, shame. I'd like to hear the Maplin kit in action lol.

When I set out to do this pedal build, I had no faith in it ever working, so I figured,why buy good shit, I'll just see if I can get it to work. now its time to order good stuff and attempt building something else I've been wanting.

I've done another one with bits I got for my birthday. Not worthy of it's own thread so I'll tack it on here...

It's a nicer version of an mxr dist+ (look at the pretty germanium diodes!), with an high gain 'pushme pullyou' octave circuit whacked on the end. It does massive doomy stoner stuff cos it's got tons of gain, or glitchy lo-fi octave distortion (like a less useless blue box, but octave up rather than octave down) with the gain rolled off. It's gonna have three knobs- normal gain, octave gain and a master volume. And I'm gonna call it the
