How about printing bold text with no fill but a black outline? That'd have a similar effect.

Yeah I've thought of that, but it doesn't solve the problem of getting text onto Very dark or Black colours unfortunately... I think if I was to paint a pedal black it would have to have Yellow writing, which would be extremely Kitsch.

It could work, who knows?

Or just set the text to like 254,254,254, just off white.

Case Crilled, Primed & Painted. Figured out how to wire pedal as permanently on. All wiring will be replaced. New boss DC jack will be added.

Zaphod, I think that would just get very fine black dots, unfortunately. Yellow on black looks great though, Mike.

I hope to have these five outstanding pedals finished by the end of next week. I really can't wait to build the tremorellols onto stripboard and make a prototype to demo.

Oh yeah, I just realised how ridiculous that idea was, printers don't have white ink and they tend to do grey with dots.

Maybe convert the document to CMYK and see if you can find a colour that has enough colour in it (if that makes sense) for the printer to actually use the coloured ink to print it.

Aye, I printed white while doing graphic design and even there we had to switch the black ink cartridge for white and print black as a workaround, it's ridiculous trying to get white out of a printer.

you can get opaque labels, so any white on the design would be solid on the print-out. just means you wouldn't have any see-through bits on the labels, but you could set the background to a similar colour as the paint, an it won't stand out so much.

Yeah that's another option, would look cack on metallics though. But it would work on the Black I think.

I just realised that you'd need a very expensive printer to print white. Printer inks are transparent and are created specifically for printing on white and use the colour of the paper as well as the inks to create the colours that you want. You'd need a fancy expensive printer that can use opaque inks.
The black obviously works because it's made to cover white and is it's own colour, it's not mixed.

Probably best to try a bright colour.

Cheers but nope dude, I only take money when I'm done. I should be able to sticker and lacquer your pedal tonight and build and post it next week hopefully!
