What is a good price on a bassman?

Post by JamesSmann »

due to the fact that our bass player is a dork who smelled some pussy and now has to not commit to the group, i may be going to bass again. which bums me out because i was really looking forward to playing guitar. but i decided that if i have to sell my AD30VT, i want to put that money towards a bassman, so i can use it for guitarage and bassage should a bass player other than me join the group again.

so what kind of prizzice should i be looking for in a bassman?

In this market, you should be able to find one in great shape easily for 500 and if you have some patience and keep looking on craigslist, you will probably come across one for 350-400 or so. At 350 it might be a little bit more beat up, but shuld still be perfectly comfortable..

Fuck that though, you should go buy the 200 watt tube orange bass amp....I bet the sounds killer with guitars... Also, money is no excuse as you have a kid and Angelina and Brad have money...SELL THE KID.

Any particular type of bassman? If you want to use it for guitar and bass it's probably best to get a 100w silverface, or maybe even the 135w
Shabba.

that's what i was thinking...but now i'm thinking "fuck playing bass in the project" i really want to stick to guitar for a little while...if it comes down to it and no one is there to play bass...then i'll do it. i mean, i love bass. it was the first instrument i really took to, and played it for 10 fucking years in Saturday's Child...I've been playing it all together for like 14 years or something...and when i lay down the demos and stuff i still lay down all the bass...

but i was really enjoying the idea of doing something DIFFERENT in this project...so now i just want to get an amp with some balls that can keep up okay with jason's jvm. if shit comes to shit, i'll buy a fucking octave pedal and a cheap GK bass head or something.
