Just a few thoughts...
Guitar:
-The Swede/Finns haven't lef the board yet: The BJF Dyna Red Distortion has proven to be my favorite mid-to-heavy overdrive for having so much gain yet still being a very musical, transparence OD at heart. Emerald Green Distortion Machine does a lovely old Voxy thing for the bridge pickup and loves to be preceded by a comp.
-The new Danelectro Cool Cat Distortion has been getting heaps of use...It absolutely loves the JCM2000 and has a lot of various drive tones well before it goes into fuzz. Some say it sounds too much like a DS-1...I disagree completely, it breaks up much more naturally and can almost clean up if necessary. Sooper cheap dirty tones!
-For a humping mids TS boob screamer type, the brown channel of the Blackstone Mosfet. It actually sounds really good on a clean amp and makes it seem like the tubes are cooking a natural load of nasalesque overdrive...If you've the patience to tweak the trimpots for necessary tone adjustments.
-As of late I've really dug my friend's OCD thru a Marshall 1974x, it makes his Tele sound enormously violent, albeit just a chunky overdrive.
-The OD-3 is still awesome for being the workhorse of overdrives. The unassuming yellow box is likely part of the magic.
Bass:
The Prescription Electronics Depth Charge(Bass fuzz, what Rochello has likely not tried yet ) and Moollon Bass Drive (Bass Overdrive) give me plenty of dirt to work with, and for more fun I'll kick either of the two with a bass-boosted EQ and/or clean boost.

Another nomination for the effector 13 effects. The Soda Meizer. It will tear your fucking face off!
