Just saw this in some guys' thread on HCFX

R2DU? How cool is that?

Footswitchable power!

If Doog was a hairmetal cock, he would totally be all over that.

During the rack effects boom of the 1980s, Pro Co introduced the R2DU, which was essentially two RAT circuits in a single rack space box. The two units could be used separately or cascaded together for a more powerful distortion. The R2DU included the RFS-2 dual footswitch for remote control of the unit.

Yeah, I remember seeing that a while back, so awesome. If it was a "end of the line" effect, I'd totally just have one sitting on top of my amp.

The Star Wars-esque moniker alone means it's the coolest thing.

And the fact the footswitch is basically a big fat RAT, meaning it's gonna be left with the roaches and Keith Richards come nuclear winter wonderland.

Jeepers, I thought it would be a sleeper but I imagine it might be around £100?

I guess the fact there's already a floor unit dual RAT on the market now and it's rackmount will keep the price lowish.. but it IS old, and that one is gonna be in A+ nick..

Through usage or mistreatment?

Usage, alarmingly; the surround on the input jack broke.

Oh I hate the jacks they use. I replaced mine with regular open jacks.

and so you should!

one's a digital reverb unit and the other's a digitech quad multiFX thing. they used to be quite handy for a band i was in years ago where there were lots of sequenced synths and stuff controlled by an MPC2000, i'd set the FX units to change patches at certain points in the song to save faffing about. i had a pretty complicated setup, and it made things a bit easier.
