Those look ok, I should say the white buttons on mine aren't oval, they're more polygon...

His neck actually looks like it used to have F Tuners, just judging by the drill holes...

It's up to you, though, cause the F Tuners on mine aren't anywhere the same as the "70s style F Tuners" - which I have a set of also (am willing to sell)...
I think you should check to see what size our holes are and find something that looks good and fits. The only reason I went theF Tuner route was cause I wanted to restore mine to it's former glory.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

I like the look of white buttons, and I like the poke the string in the middle actionof kluson types. I don't want to go the sperzel locking route (although i'm going to use them on my robert custom) because of the vintage look of the neck. Mostly I just want it to stay in tune but a vintage-ish look would be good.

Next time I re-string it I'll take a couple of tuners off and meausre the holes, and take pics of where the current mounting holes are.

So what do you have that you'd sell Mike? A 70s F tuner set with chrome buttons and an incomplete F button set with white buttons?

Yea, the chrome ones are brand new, and they're WAY bigger than my F Buttons, I paid like 60 or 70 for em (what ever GPR says), and then an incomplete vintage white button set. I also have 2 black Mustang knobs (brand new)...

That's all I wanna sell, though...

here's the 'f' tuners on my '78 musicmaster. they don't look like they'd line up with any of the holes on your neck. i think if you can get kluson style ones it'll be less hassle (as long as the ones you buy line up with the ones already there...!)

Yea, they look like they might be backwards os the F Tuners... You should take em off and get some more pics... I have no clue what tuners used to be on there.

And you thought Schaller were tasteless.

They do their own versions of F-Tuners for $60. I want some in the same kinda way I want one of those non-metal Ibanez guitars. Just to psych people out.

Black/tort, White/tort, silver/tort, sunburst/tort, green/tort are fine by me...but I hate the blue/tort with a passion now. FUCK YOU ROBROE.

Do they actually sell new F tuners with white plastic buttons? If you can only buy the chrome ones, maybe you could try painting the buttons on them white? I know that's a cheesy/less than desirable option, but if done carefully it might come out nice.

I've never seen them... If you paint em, I'd powder coat them, just to be awesome, though.

Those Sonic Blue MIJ Mustangs with candy red tort and white covers are clown guitars.

Tort is only any good if it's brown, anyway. Never on red or blue guitars.

Actually I'd say it's at it's best when it's old. The vintage examples I've seen have been much nicer than the new ones. I'm not sure how much of that is down to the different plastic type and how much just vintage mojo, but it's definitely the case.

I generally prefer brown tort (especially on white or black guitars), but I have to say that a well made red tort on a Fender sunburst is quite nice.
