I think I might buy an MXR Carbon Copy

Some of the stuff I use delay on I find myself wishing it was warmer sounding and more organic...and so might get this.
Haven't seen anything bad about the pedal - any reason you guys know why I shouldn't?

Cheapest I've found is Â£119 from HotRox.

I think it's a very cool pedal, and the size is excellent. I think mewithoutus owns one? Or has definitely played one. I haven't unfortunately.

It might not be what you're after and it has only 300ms as opposed to 600ms of delay. But it is Â£100 cheaper.

The Carbon Copy is a solid pedal and so far the only criticisms I've heard of it are that the modulation is somewhat subtle.

Yeah certainly a much more wallet friendly price!
Think that the subtle modulation is one of the reasons the MXR appeals too.

They don't make enuogh of a difference. There is a mod to make it better, but it's a resistor swap.

I have one which i picked up in America (hello exchange rate!) and its a pretty class delay pedal. The modulation is indeed very subtle. They say you can turn down the delay and just use it as a chorusy kind of effect but really its far too subtle for anything like that, it just adds a little shimmer to the sound though that doesn't really explain it too well. It does excel at a nice warm analog delay sound though, really nice and rich. I'm off to Dublin tonight (to see the boosh live!) but i can try and do a quick demo tomorrow evening if you would like. If there is anything you would like to hear in particular any songs or anything through it let me know. Though i think proguitar shop has one on youtube.

Thanks - if you fancy doing a demo that would be great, though I've seen a few on youtube. Am thinking I'm going to go this way rather than the Behringer. Cheers for the input

I remember us both being really, really impressed with the build quality of the Noise Box at Doogfest, that was some fantasticly laid out PCB and really neat wiring.

The youtube demos are outstanding. The guy posts at FSB (Brian M is his user name I think) and talks openly about his designs. He's corrected a few schematics, posted one or two himself, and even posted a design he was working on but never put to production. I've never really liked phaser pedals but their Quasar sounds brilliant. I'm a little scared to buy any of their pedals in case it doesn't stop at just one.

Very cool. You come across some guys who are total gems. Paul Cochrane who makes the Timmy pedals was involved in open and frank discussion of his design which some people slighted, and I thought he came across really well. The Timmy schematic is available and when someone enquired about the Tim he just laid it all out (the boost, loop and gain differences to the timmy) rather than have someone tear his pedal apart.

The indyguitarist guy, Brian Wampler and the Skreddy fellow are both people I completely respect also.
