I want more reliable specs on this guitar than those provided by musiciansfriend, but I can't even find it on their website.
What do they mean by "lacquer" finish? Will this turn green after 20 years?

lol.
that's the one reason it took me so long to get an sg or lp.
i fucking abused the goth sg and busted the neck off at the body the second show it was used it.
i just glued that shit back on like two days later and it still plays awesome as fuck.
dude, I have wondered this myself. I mean, it is by far the worst website of any guitar manufacturer. the other day I was looking for info on the ES-335. simple enough right? no. it's not there, or it's in some hidden depths of the back archives of the website.
I'm sure it's lacquer - some modern lacquer doesn't yellow, some does. Personally, I think it has more to do with tobacco then sun exposure. Lacquer breathes with temp and humidity changes, so it will literally inhale smoke which then gets stuck and stains. Sort of like what happens to yr lungs.
I'm just amazed that Gibson has a website at all, considering how desperate they are to avoid trying new things. I don't think they've changed the design or layout since they went online a decade ago.
They just need to post one page with specs, since all their guitars are essentially the same.
