Just want everybody to know that my SaltBoost Plus and my Ultimate Octave clone arrived a few days ago. Both are wickedly good!

I'm having endless fun with the octave pedal! I love the weird warbliness when I strum chords, the way it loses tracking is actually quite musical in this way. Of course, when used in the traditionaly "proper" octave fashion with single notes high on the neck, it just sings! It's my new favourite toy!

I am so going to fail my lisence exam this weekend...

haha.. I'm sure you'll do great mate. Thanks very much for posting and for ordering in the first place - it was great fun building them both.

When you get a chance try running the Saltbooster into your overdrive pedals to turn them into fuzzy monsters.

I just found the youtube demo you did with my octave fuzz about 12 pages back. Nice! I hadn't seen that before, because I always forget to check up on this thread.

The saltbooster rocks... I got it primarily so that I could boost the output on my guitars with low output single coils. I love the tone of low output singles, but I really want to be able to slam the front end of my amp when I use the amp's natural distortion. I had compromised in the past and put red and blue Lace sensors in my 69 Japanese 'stang, but those are going to get tossed out the window soon, because they sound like ass, especially clean. Back to single coils and better tone. Now I can rape my amp with the booster, which is FUCKING LOUD! Just what I needed

BTW, the tone control on the salt booster is really nicely done. It's perfect for cutting out any piercing highs without fundamentally changing the guitar's tone. Nice!

I had better pass this exam, because it costs $500 to write it... I don't want to have to spend another half grand to redo it. I'd rather spend the dough on more enjoyable things like guitar stuff, or cigarettes, or chocolate croissants.

hahah it sounds like you have it all planned out mate. Yup the tone control I did a fair bit of experimenting with cap and pot value before I finalised, I think it allows you to get a more rounded sound out of the guitar.

Thanks very much for the kind words and good luck in the exam, I'll be thinking of you!
