Keeping pedals on-board?

Post by cobascis »

This is kind of a trivial question but..

How do you all keep your pedals on the board. I velcroe'd the each of the four feet and then lay a strip down on the wood. This kinda works but it its horrible when you have to move the pedals and makes the feet forever sticky  . Do you take the feet off?

I've got a carpetted board, so you attach the hook side of the velcro to thebottom of a pedal and stick to the board. No mess and easy to move stuff around. It won't hold heavy stuff on if you put the board upright or anything, so in that case the best thing to do is to use a figure of 8 washer, attach one side to the screw on the base of the pedal and scerw the other into your board.

The cable tie method looks shit. No excuse for using that.

3M Dual Lock (wherever the feet aren't) with a matching strip on the board. Splittable with a letter opener, it's simply the strongest stuff available that won't let you down. With a little twist, it sticks to carpet pretty well, too.

out of interest, is it a wah pedal that your trying to stick down? is that what you mean by sticking velcro to the 4 feet?

i've still not found a way of using velcro for a wah pedal without bolting the bloody thing to my board.

I think that's an apt punishment for using a wah pedal in the first place.

Not just wah, they all have feet that would keep velcro from touching the board. I cut little circles out of velcro (sticky kind) and put them on the little screwable feet, the place it on the board. Doesn't work great..

its not working great because there isnt enough surface area of velcro to properly get a grip.

take those feet off, and put two strips about 2 inches long on each side of the bottom of the wah, running lengthwise. that will hold it firm.

lol, wah.

i took the feet off my small stone and covered the base of it with velcro. nickd will have found this, as he owns my small stone now.

i'm liking your pedal board beginnings, i've been thinking of ditching my crybaby for a vox wah.

On my small clone, I dont think the feet are removeable, but it's almost identicle to the small stone, am I missing something?

normally small stones/clones have little rubber feet that are stuck on with glue. you can just pop them off.
