sorry for my ignorance, but would you not have been better just buying an amp with tubes and a speaker that you like in the first place? or is it a cost/quality balance thing? enlighten me.

my fucking amp is making loud popping noises and i can see little blue flashes in the back....two of the screws are stripped so I can't even get to where I think he tubes are...

other then that the crate v-50 sounds fucking amazing for the price..

it's definitely a cost/quality balance thing. i've yet to hear any amp that i loved the stock tubes in...except like vintage gear...but that's vintage gear and therefore a totally different thing. as far as spekaers go, it's the same thing...i have no problem upgrading

^yeah, amps rarely come with awesome t00bz and speekz. unless you get like a mesa, and you pay for it with the Celestion v30 and matched mesa-picked t00brz. shit be expensive brah!

Crate V18: $150 + $45 for decent tubes + $70-ish for speaker = awesome amp for $265.
Makes sense to me.
