Anyone do mastering???

Post by More Cowbell »

I recorded my friends band, they want to have it mastered, and will, but I thought I'd ask here and give someone here some biznezz. Locally we have the legend "rodney mills", that is who they plan on having master it, unless someone here wants to try/do it.

I'll have a go at it...
These days I only ever seem to work on my own stuff rather than other peoples, so it would make a welcome change... plus I've got some pretty decent mastering software...

How many songs need mastering? If it's just one I'll do it for nothing and if the're happy with it they can pay me what they think the job is worth (if anything)...

9 songs. Some are bit different mixed, so they'll need to be "mastered" to gel together better. Music is "bruce springsteenish" don't know if you could handle listening to it over and over? How much?

I don't mind a bit of the Boss...
If I was gonna do that many songs, I'd probably charge an hourly rate of £10 (I'm not sure what the current exchange rate is)... but I'd be happy to do a couple for free, that way they can check to see if the're happy with the results before committing themselves to spending the money....
If you PM me one or two of the songs I can give you better idea of how much work is gonna be involved...

Kool. I'll pm you a song, have a go at mastering it, and quote a total price figure and I'll let them know.
