I went to my friendly neighborhood guitar shop yesterday and they had just gotten this 2008 Squier Standard Telecaster that came with a Roadrunner gigbag both like new. They let me have them for $169.It's a nice tele,I like it better than the MIM Fender Standard I used to have.
Obviously you're aware of how quickly you turn around some of your purchases, and you're at least as much of a collector/dealer as you are a player. So I'm wondering, have you made a profit over the years? It'd be quite cool if you were a few grand up and have owned dozens of awesome guitars in the process.

Well,it's hard to calculate, but I have tried to buy stuff that I thought I could make a profit on or at least not lose any money on.I think the small profit I made on the 57 guitars I sold probably paid for the the 4 guitars I have now.
i counted once, between tracy and i we have had over 148 guitars in our lifetime,
i think.... i think i have maybe made a profit on a couple of them.
but not by much, probly the best profit i made was buying my am jaguar for 900 bucks shipped, playing it for 2 years. keeping the strap and buzz stop and then selling it for 900 plus shipping, so thats like 40 dollar profit, plus being able to play a jag for free for 2 years.
Basically you might aswell just browse ebay and look at pictures of guitars. That's all you get in these threads: Oh look, a picture of a guitar in a creepy house. Another will be along in 2 weeks.

*yawn*
I don't see a problem with it. The guy obviously likes buying and selling as a hobby. It's not like he's buying vintage fenders, replacing the pickguard with tooled leather and then burning the original before selling the guitar.
There is no point to these threads though, it's just a collection of pictures of guitars in a creepy looking house with extraneous crap in it.
I don't know if he even plays the things, he seems to have next to no relationship with the instruments since there hasn't even been one mainstay in his "collection".
He has no relationship with the board at all really outside these threads, it's bizarre.
What on earth is the point in the threads? Oh a picture of a guitar, it's going to be sold. Oh a picture of another guitar.
