The reason I haven't been posting- No sleep for a week!

Post by roachello »

I've been working on this project for a month already. I finally created the prototype and it's due today. (Crossing fingers for the presentation!)

I made a hair razor- hair cutting tool to texturize, feather, and thin hair. It's the type that's a cross between a straight razor and a switch blade.
The prototype was created using poplar (scary moment- I broke the band saw blade with it :() and it was pretty much like making a mini guitar- template, sanding, priming, then painting.

So I've pretty much been up for 48 hours and counting- and I'm going to see MBV tonight- hopefully I'll have enough energy for the show.

I love it, Rochelle. Razors are so bland. It would be neat to make one out of aluminum. One of those blades looks like it juliennes.

Thanks guys! :D

I'm trying to break out of the retro thing before it becomes a habit. Next time I'll try something more futuristic or boxy. The presentation went really well despite the fact that we had an unexpected large audience to present to (several classes including our own). I brought a wig and stuck it on a mannequin for demonstration and named it "Margarita". :D

But that's retro with a futuristic edge (cutting edge). I wouldn't worry about it. It's fresh! But boxy would be a nice practice effort, stretch the skills.

Spooky good fun, cyber beatniks rejoice!

I can never get over how cool finished image renderings like the above can look, your '50s cruiser effects pedal enclosure was stunning.

Fleshlight? As in male member shaped flashlight? I actually have a classmate who's obsessed with making all his products look "sexy". But if I ever get to do another small hand electronics project, fleshlight it is!

Before you agree to do that, I would recommend finding out just what a fleshlight is.
It's not a penis-shaped flashlight.
