Thundercats MFn VIDEO P4?

robert(original) wrote:i coulda sworn there was a THUNDERCATZ! thread but i can't seem to find it, so here are the newest of the pics, which i don't think i have really sent these, but im starting to actually see a pretty kickass guitar here.
today i put in the tuners(had to re-drill the holes)
and made the nut(still needs some final shaping stuff)
but you can see some of the bad spots of the finish on the neck, and some of the good spots.
and you can also see where the bridge will be, once i can find the fucking bit i need(i never have the bit that i need)
enjoy!
Image
Image
here is a shot of the nut so far.
Image
there was a hair or something under the finish and it cracked and came off in a few spots, i dropped some tint in there, hopefully when it dries it will burn in pretty well.
Image
the sides were SUPER thin so i sanded thru the clear and tint like nothing, but once again, i just dropped some tint in there.
Image
same story with the back, you can also see the plugs from the original screw holes.
Image
hhhmm hmm hmm, the back is nice and shiny tho!
Image
the back of the headstock, once again, good ole sand thru!, i may jut have to sand it all off and re-spray.
Image
at least the headstock is sexy, err no wait, there are dips around the decal, fuck!
thats the one major complaint i have about when they paint stuff for me, it always bubbles and then pops, leaving a dip.
Image
and teh body.

That's cool.
If you think of god as a pair of pants, a spiritualist thinks he needs pants, in fact he wants pants but none of the conventional types of pants seem to fit just right, so he makes his own pants and is happy that his knees are no longer cold.-fibus

what?
no, aen made a thread LONG time ago about a project to end all projects, essentiall it was a bass VI with a bigsby and stuff,
and then it was re-fined into a jaguar(96 MIJ) with a bronco bass neck, some repro tuners and what not.
its been something that lingers over my head but i can never find enough time to actually complete it.
i gotta place the bridge, make the guard, and re-wire the bastard, and then..... i think it will be close..... or rather closer,
hey, why is is this is the shortscales section.
aen have you been smoking the pot which you do not smoke?

That's the Jag I got for like $225 or $250 in a pawn shop. I traded it to Mr.Mustache, then he traded it to Bubbles. He recently sold it. The Thundercats sticker has been gone since before I got rid of it.

Yeah, I bought it from Bubbles. Im taking it in next week to get refreted, as you said befor, they are pretty worn.. the G and B string were dead on the 12th fret, and it just annoyed me. other than that, i love it.

you should be able to get the frets leveled.
i doubt that a 12 year old guitar(or is it more?)
really needs a re-fret.

Oh cool man, I didn't realize you bought it. It's becoming quite the ss.org whore. It's pretty nice, I miss it sometimes.

so its wired up normal, i made a tester guard out of cream material, im waiting on some mint to come in(should be here in like 5 days)
the bridge actually had to be placed ON TOP of the tremolo and i had to drill thru it, plus i had to mod the bottom plate to allow for trem use.
its now just waiting on strings, and mint material, then i can finish cutting the nut and take the bastard to WI to give it to aen.
Image
the only thing wron with the template i made was.....
i fuct up the neck area.
Image
Image
i brought up the idea to aen to maybe stick another jaguar pup behind the guard, mainly to cover up where i ALMOST put the bridge.
