what to do with my am deluxe 50th anniv strat?

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

what to do with my am deluxe 50th anniv strat?

Post by Skip »

i don't know what to do? I am so into all my offsets that i never play it
it is in mint shape, but is it a sin to let it hang on my wall?
i would love to trade it for a avri jag or jazz---
but should i, will i regret it?
should everyone have a strat in the wings?
and i am not one of those hold onto it forever for the investment guys
anybody got experience with this?
I would have given up already if it wasn't for the impending revolution!

if you have no ties to it, then sell it off and buy a jazzy or something.
im not a strat guy, but i have been thinking about a maple necked strat(some sort of greenish surfy color) at the local music shop for a few years now, its a cool looking guitar(the guitar neck has flame, HATE ME!)
and it sounds pretty cool, im not too keen on the feel of the thing, nor the trem, but it sounds good enough and still feels good enough that it has been in the back of my mind for years.

It's not a sin to let it hang on the wall.
But it's not like it's the only strat in the world. I'd say sell it - if you really miss it in 6 months or a year you can always get another strat.

it's like does fender realize that by constantly pushing a million different strat models that they are driving people away from the strat? it's like if you want to be a unique artist (which most artists do) you are going to play anything but a strat because they are so ubiquitous. the market is way oversaturated with the damn things.

like, HELLO, how about actually trying to market some of your other guitars and maybe they will sell better. they are so fucking bad at marketing shit.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...

Sell the Strat, buy what you really want/will play. If you're happy with what you have otherwise, sell the Strat, save the $$$ for a rainy day.

If there's nothing about it that stands out to you over other strats, then go ahead and sell it. I don't play my MIA strat as much these days but I will never sell it, because I have an attachment to it. the wear and tear on it is just perfect and nothing else can compare to it!
