Nice guitar :)

But it's not a 93-94 as it's CIJ not MIJ. Suggests it's 2006 or 7 or something: link

And I can't see a contour, if so it's a '65 reissue (shrunken guard suggests this too), which is a lovely guitar.

What's wrong with the pups?

yeah the guitar has not arrived yet
but the display pictures showed no contour
what you guys think was 530$ a steal?

im going to leave as is
my last ri mustang was same color guard ect but it had the contour and didnt have the white Gotoh heads
and i had it routed for a bucker and refin in all black and aug made a black guard for it

does aug post here anymore?

so it has a poplar body being that its a 65 reissue??

No Contour = 65RI like we're saying.

$530 is fairly high considering in teh US you can get a 65RI new for $699.

However in terms of the UK pricing it's excellent. It's definitely not a steal, but be happy.

I'd say well done as a brand new one runs $700+. Maybe not a steal, but a good price fo sho.

yeah im satisfied
it was sold as a 94-95 reissue i assumed it was just a 69 ri with changed tuners and i didnt really pay attention to the lack of a body contour til you guys mentioned it .

but now that you guys helped me find out it a 65 ri im extremely satisfied

thanks everyone.

Try playing it before you think about changing pickups... I've heard good things about the pickups in those.

I would leave the pickguard, that's a good scheme on a stang and I'll bet it looks way better in person than in the pics.

$400 or less would be a steal, $530 is fair. It's $530 on ebay and not $700 plus sales tax, so you saved a fair bit of coin; I spy nothing but a ding on the headstock.

The 65RIs are more of an actual white rather than the pish Custard yellow '69s. They look way better.

Yeah, the circle will be complete. I actually love the Dakota 65RI. I was very close to getting that colour, but the Daphne called to me.

The pickups are indeed brilliant, I actually have the 69RI pickups in my Duo Sonic II project and they sound good too, so I think it's the basswood that is making the 69RIs sound worse.
