Noiseless Pickups

Post by Fibus »

Has anyone tried the vintage noiseless pickups for the tele? I am torn between buying a set of them or a set of texas specials but i have heard the noiseless suck a bit of your tone, plus they are humbuckers not single coils. An end to the hum given off by my MIM tele pickups when its in certain positions would be welcome but i don't want to sacrifice tone for it. Anyone tried them or the texas specials for that matter?

I put texas specials in my CIJ '62 Tele (that is very nearly sold) and they sound absolutely great. They're not remotely noisy so I don't know why you'd go for the noiseless ones over these. I've never tried noiseless tele pickups, but the couple of times I've tried the strat variety they struck me as lifeless and insipid.
