Halp with Hofner

Post by bassintom »

My daughter's Father-in-law picked up a Hofner parlor guitar at a yard sale for $10.It has a tag inside that says Hofner and handwritten in a kind of germanish way is "1968".It came with a plushlined hardshell case.I'm trying to find out if this is worth anything as the F-I-L gave it to my grandsons(ages 4 & 6)to mess with. The thing is in really good shape,it has 3 wire and 3 nylon strings on it...Here's the weird part,,,it looks really old but...it has some type of pickup in the bridge and at the bottom of the bridge is a chrome knob for volume or tone control attached right onto the bridge. There is a hole at the side bottom where there was a jack but I cant see any wires inside.
Any of you guys ever see something like this?I did a search but I couldn't find shit on it.Thanks,T
