holy shit, us brits never normally get cool stuff! might be a total pile of crap (pickguard is wonky, and no idea of scale length or build quality), but for £120 maybe worth a punt?
FRAN - report to thread!!

Neck could have been changed I dunno...
If you're thinking it's one of those Alden Jazzcasters, it's not - it is fully custom with seperate neck, body, trem and electronics (maybe the body is from an Alden though?).
I messaged the seller for more details (what its made of, how it was made, scale length). He replied this morning saying he installed the pickguard and pickups himself, and he couldn't answer the rest of my questions as they were "too technical". What can I say except oh dear...has he just bought a loaded strat stratchplate off ebay and cut round it??
Still think Fran should buy it, even if it's just for a project...the pickups alone are worth £50+
James wrote:Is the rest worth £85 though? Why should Fran buy it? You buy it if it's a great deal.
Fran was after a new jag-stang, and likes tinkering. I'd buy it but i just bough a JS..
someone could put in a bid and get it for £80 if no one else bids - pickups are worth £50 remember!

Email him back and tell him you're a part time luthier and want the technical details.
Sorry I wasn't clear - he replied saying my questions were "too technical for him" i.e. he didn't know the scale length, or the wood, or anything about the guitar. Yet he installed the pickups??!

Its not my thing aph to be honest, i think he's pushing his luck with a JS decal (which is'nt right either), it looks nothing like a JS. In fact its awfull and i hat Bigsbys. Them Hodson Surfcats are way better than this.

Just for the fun of it, in the first pic try measuring the distance from the nut to the 12th fret and from the 12th to the bridge - unless the photo is massively distorted, that thing would not intonate in a million years. Which may be what happens when you put a 25.5 scale neck on a 24 scale body.

No, that about matches up, if my technique of holding a packet of cigarette papers up to the screen and marking it with my thumb works.

The two red lines in this pic are the same length:
