I know that it's a shame that he destroyed a vintage guitar to do it, but I really don't care about vintage correct mojo and I like the look of the glossy neck, 70's pickguard, two pickups, and hardtail. I've been thinking that something like this would make a cool project, but I have absolutely no experience, and routing seems like a risky move for someone who hasn't done it before.
I am going to ask him what scale it is (I'd prefer a 24") and try to get some more pictures from under the pickguard. I think that this could be really cool if I replaced the pups with some single coils (though I will certainly try out the ones that are already in there). For now, I call dibs on it.

Also with these guitars the serial number is on a sticker on the back of the scratchplate so if it's original to the guitar you'd still have the serial # despite the headstock refin. It could be a very cool little purchase. I hope you snag it.
