vintage 62 jaguar repaier, loads of cool pics
i got a call today from the music shop.
it was rick the owner,
he said.
"robert, you need to get in here as quickly as possible, i cannot explain, just get in here."
i cruised on by at about 8:30 expecting something bad, but it was good, very good indeed.
it seems that a fellow by the name of derrek brought in his grandfathers guitar.
do you know what his grandfathers guitar was?
A FUCKING VINTAGE JAGUAR!
1962, ALL ORIGINAL, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A MISSING NUT! IM MAKING THE FUCKING NUT FOR THIS GUITAR!
ITS SEXY AS HELL!
I TOOK ABOUT 30 PICTURES SO FAR, BUT THE COMP IS BEING SLOW AS HELL AND WON'T UPLOAD THEM CORRECTLY!!!!!
i had to re-build the trem, it seems that his grandfather took apart the trem and did not know how to put it back together.
so i cannabilized an older jap one for some screws and its good as new.
the neck is still glossy~!
with the exception of some neck wear, the frets still have alot of life in them, and its pretty good looking for a 62 finish wise, there are finish cracks and dings, but there is minimal arm wear, mostly its buckle rash.
all the electronics are CLEAN!
the neck has been removed before and the trem has been removed but as far as the rest it is completely untouched, im almost 100% sure of this.
pics in the morning!

Really? The vintage shop near me has a '66 for $6,000 and a '67 for $4,000.robert(original) wrote:aside from 3 screws(in the trem) the lack of bridge cover, and the strings (duh) it is completely original, i would appraise this on the ebay market for an easy 3,000.00 and probly more cuz the og case is involved and the mute is still 100% functional(besides the strip, its dry rotted to hell)

music shops are over priced.
go on ebay, you can score a pre cbs jag thats 90% original for less than 3 grand.
i remeber back in 98 i saw a pre cbs jag at hauer music in dayton ohio, literally untouched, thing looked like it was 15 years old max and it was 900 bucks.
that same guitar would fetch over 4 grand on ebay and in a guitar shop it would probly be like 6 grand.

there is no way the kid is going to sell it, it was his granfathers.
i kinda already asked him.
"well if you ever sell it, this is what you need to know"
and before i could finish he just said.
"it was my grandfathers and im planning on passing it on to my kids one day"
i have the nut half made, enough to where i put the low e string on.
the electronics need to be cleaned(really just the slider switches)
and the rythm pup is newer, not sure what year but its got plastic on the wires instead of clothe.
and the rythm section switch was flipped at some point.
oh and i gotta clean out the rythm section volume.
i have a whole new load of pictures to throw down, but the comp is being slow soooo.....
