:) well i listened to a lot of demos and i thought these would be the most useful to me:

VP1 Authentic Vintage Style Phaser
UO100 Ultra Octaver 3-Mode Octaver Guitar

i'm hoping the demos were accurate because they sounded pretty much unbelievably good to me. i guess i'll find out when they arrive :)

i never thought i would want a phaser pedal but this one sounds really exceptional. if it lives up to the hype, i'll definitely get rid of my Boss phaser. i was kind of disappointed they didn't have the superfuzz or the fancy tremelo... i almost bought that chorus orchestra and the feedbacker, but i gave it more thought and decided i wouldn't really have much use for those. i would be interested in hearing how you like the chorus

i got the pedals today and had a close call... the box had a huge crush mark on the side as though someone stood on it. the box had clearly been opened and re-sealed. then i opened it up and 100% of the packaging material was just laying on top of everything. there was nothing underneath the pedals except cardboard... then i picked up the phaser and i heard this sickly rattling sound... :( so i called up WM and talked to the guy and he said i should try it out and see if it works... i was like ok but this sounds like it's definitely not something that should be moving around in there. it sounded kind of like a loose LED rattling around... then i opened up the plastic packaging of the pedal, which was already opened... opened the battery case and a little piece of glue the size of an LED fell out. whew relief.

the phaser is completely awesome. i want to sell my boss phaser right away. it's actually something that i could see myself using - it sounds really fantastic. they nailed the sound of this one

the octave pedal i have mixed feelings about so far. it does have an extremely fast attack, which is what interested me in it... but it also does not sustain well at all. adding a lot of gain before it seems to help lengthen the sustain, but i don't see this pedal being useful for any droney music.

the instructions cleverly suggest, "...you'll get natural, clear octave sounds with constant pitch, even for staccato playing." but really only the first octave is very clear and it only sounds good for quick staccato playing. at least that's what i've found so far.

i can imagine the octave being so-so
never really found an octave pedal that does what it is supposed to 100% of the time except for the POG
even the boss octave isn't always spot on

but i'm glad the phaser worked out and is sounding great

yeah i am basically satisfied with these pedals though... i'll mess around more with the octave pedal and it could be fun to have around. :)

octaves are always fun to lay down a bass line or emulate a bass/guitar thing
