Yeah, I can honestly say that the Kill Switch is pretty useless to me....but then again the rythm circuit on my Jazzmaster was never used either. So I suppose it's a wash for me.....
Yeah the I dig the hb look on these (not to mention the sound), but they just look right to me...but then that's a product of me growing up in the 90's listening to alt rock and grunge I guess.
The low E string doesnt line up with the humbuckers too well, from the ones I've seen. Like with the Jag-Stang humbucker. Fender only wants the "fender high end" to come through? I guess there are ways to solve this problem.
Hows the neck feel with the TOM??
Astro* I put a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a PAF in the neck. I have a set of Gibson 490's but they didn't match up, plus I didn't feel like ripping the covers off of them to make it look kosher. This is my first set of DiMarzio pickups and I'm pretty happy with them for sure. It's got a different feel to the JB and Alnico II I used previously in a LP (but that has to be taken with a grain of salt b/c of the guitar).
The spacing on the stock humbuckers were aligned perfectly, and I ended up getting the normal spaced DiMarzios, but they didn't match up with the spacing.
Got a set of "F" spaced and they align fine now, like the stock pickups. So, I'm guessing it's not a Gibson spaced TOM, b/c the "F" spaced pickups aligned correctly.
The bridge (stock) was all the waFy to the bottom of the body....like flush low. So the neck needed to be shimmed, the bridge raised and I put 11's on.
I can honestly say, no bullshit, the neck plays better than my old '62 AVRI Jazzmaster. The action is very nice and just above string buzz (where I like it).
I was in Guitar Center the other day and they had a Japanese Jaguar (serial started with a Q) and it didn't feel nearly as polished and fit as the Classic Player (I played a handful and there were definitely two good for every five I picked up).

Yeah, that was my issue b/c it had a TOM bridge, but fender pickups......and when I went replace them I couldn't figure out what matched up. The Gibson set I've got laying around looked like they were almost there but with the covers it was hard to tell.
Although, I have no doubt there are probably some out there that are a little jacked and don't fit right. I played a few where the frets were so sharp, it hurt to slide when wrapping your thumb around the neck. But the big ass frets are great, I dig'em.

How well does the trem work with the adjusto-matic? Do the strings bind or catch on the saddles when you use it? From what I understand, the adjusto-matic has the spacing and radius of a fender neck (well, the modern radius of 9.5"), so that pretty much rules out putting graphite or roller saddles on it, since I think these are only available in the Gibson radius.
I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these Jags. These days I prefer single coils, but the HH offers the best of both worlds. I'd get the single coil CP, but I am not a fan of Candy Apple red, and sunburst doesn't look good on a jag (in my opinion). Once again, Fender USA limits our colour options.
I actually don't use the trem at all.....I had the spring tightened/blocked it as I've never really learned or been compelled to use one. The only sounds I can make are very much like a dying cat.
It's funny, because I'm just the opposite as I think sunburst are my favorite for Jags. I like the surf Jazz and Daphne Mustang....but Jags are Sunburst.
The blending is very responsive. When you start to pull back the full humbucker and start blending to a single, you can get some really nice fuzzy fat single coil sound. It's very cool with a fuzz, I cranked the gain on my old vintage rat and I just started laughing because I liked it so much.
Once you get all the way down to a single, it's a pretty good representation of a single coil but I haven't really played with it down too much at this point. I will, just been enjoying the rawk too much to really experiment....
I forgot, but I also added a set of Klusons that I got cheap on craigslist (dropped it and jacked up the low e tuner).
I've got a mackbook and I believe I can shoot some clips with the built in camera.....I'll try and see if I can't hook something up at the space to just do a quick run through of some of the sounds and combinations (since there are quite a few options).

for one thing, the finish job on the hh is better; frets are filed properly and whatnot. but beyond that, the neck on the hh feels more worn in (even though i got it virtually new) and just slightly wider. . . just enough so that it "fits" better to my hands. the best comparison is with my jag-stang. my avri's neck good (don't misunderstand), but i somehow expected more from a $1400 guitar. . . maybe the one i got was made on a bad day in corona.
