Mansons Guitar Show 2008 (Iceybomb)

Post by Thom »

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the Pub, anyway, for the fist time in 9 years Mansons have put on a guitar show in Exeter, drawing all the big names down to devon for a weekend of guitar and amp fueled fun.
There was a great timetable of demonstrations and clinics, with stands from everyone you would expect: Fender, Gibson, Marshall, Orange, PRS...etc...etc...
Had a chat with Chris George from Marshall which was cool - he was a top guy. He demoed the JVM, new 1923 combo and the Vintage Modern - all sounded amazing.

Here are a few photos that I took whilst I wasn't drooling...

I walked up through the car park and a stunning Bentley limo caught my eye...I instantly thought "I bet that's Jim Marshall's"...right enough, check out the number plate!!! Coolest car ever...

The weekend ended with John Paul Jones (from Led Zep obviously) doing a Q&A session and then jamming with Chris George from Marshall! Was bloody great! Shame the photos didn't come out so well...

The weekend was awesome, had loads of fun... Cannot wait for the next one.

Yeah it was close to the quay - was in the Riverside Leisure Centre.

There was just the one that is on usual display in the shop - mirrored front with a choas pad built in behind the bridge - he smashed it at some gig or other - what a waste, what a twat.

My old stomping ground! I used to play 720 there.

When they built the waterslide, they put the sections together the wrong way round (not like a tiled roof, like it was meant to be) so it shaved off your leghair/bumskin as you went down, leading to it being known as "The Bumskinner" on my old estate.
