My new Orange setup

Post by Thom »

Some of you may have seen my post in the classifieds, anyway, I have gone from an Orange 2x12 cab to 2 Orange 1x12 cabs.
I'm going to open one up and make it open-backed. Bit more versatile, as I can now run 2 amps if I want.
And I think it looks cool as fuck ;) Mini Orange Stack.
So I have gone from this:

and heavy

good score thom, bet it makes quite some difference in sound (i presume it seems 'louder' too since one of the speakers is higher now) but also a bit more portable eh

sometimes i wish i could trade my ampeg 410 for an orange 212 somehow

Yeah totally, it does make a difference - probably a little less bottom end, but also is clearer because of the higher speaker. Need to break the speakers in to get a proper picture.
Got my first practice with a new band next week so is ideal timing!
And the portability is one of the reasons I did it, so much easier on my back! No more banging into the walls on my stairs!

I would totally do that if Marshall made a 1x12" as wide as my head.

I'd settle for Marshall making a 2x12 that doesn't cost the same thing as having your entire life gold-plated.

In England they're really reasonable, like £215.

AH I know I forgot again. Poetic Justice for UK-dwelling guitarists.

We get fucked on Fenders though. Luckily I find Fender amps incredibly boring in the large.
