I've owned both the Chinese II and the Vista models.
I can't say I was too impressed with the Chinese one and sold it within months of getting it.
The Vista, on the other hand, is my go-to guitar. I wouldn't change anything about it.
I've even grown to love those brash sounding DD hummies.

I only ever had the Chinese model, which was easily my favourite guitar. I haven't played the others, but the new Squier (is it 'Vintage Modified Series?') types just look like puoke to me. Especially the black w/ white guard. The pups look too small and it just looks like a cheapo shitty guitar.

I am totally jonesing for another Chinese CAR Jagmaster though.

so far with my classic modified jagmaster i'm less then impressed for my day to day work (aka punk) on guitar, but when i was to get some weird gnarls out and drench things in feedback i'm very content with it
my only complaint is the trem system, i loathe strat trem's its arguably the reason i've never played a strat.
so either a mod to a jag/jazz trem is in order, or i'm gonna sell the thing on flea bay
plus the tort is horrid
and i'm so over the burst.
