the religion says that Tele is Tele, and Strat is Strat, and so be it forever.
too bad i'm atheist

what would YOU do if you'd want your strat to sound more like a tele?
i want that fat bridge-position twang, and that sweet tele bridge+neck rhythm tone.
aside from string mounting and wiring the guitars don't have much sound-influential difference to me. but that's just me, faithless scum

my guess would be to put hottie single coil in bridge (like 6.5k+) and something much weaker in neck position (IIRC tele neck pickups are like 4.7k stock).
what do you guys think?

seymour duncan makes a tele bridge pickup that fits in a strat.

I can't remember who makes them but I'm actually pretty sure there's pickups for strats out there that have the brass plate on the bottom to try to emulate the tele bridge sound.

A guy that used to work at Fat Sound Guitars in Cary had a parts-telecaster that he just routed the neck pickup cavity so he could fit a strat-neck pickup in there. He said it sounded close to a strat in the neck position like that.

Yup.

And, if needs be, install a third pickup in it. I'm fairly sure I've seen that done, with the name 'the tex-mex-mod.' Although that name is a very a very, very good reason not to do it.

I don't see any reason not to use this oppurtunity to buy a new guitar.

Excellent. How much was shipping?

Donk will be up this weekend too, so it's likely to have get played by even more shortscalers (although I suppose there's a good chance he'd have played ita doog's, if he was so inclined.

I'll let you know when I know, they bill us after a couple of weeks or so. I would say in the region of a tenner going on past experience.
