Ideas for this Tele...

Post by anthoney »

I picked up this Squier Fat Tele for cheap a few months back and I'm looking for ideas and what I should do to it. I thought about changing the pickups but I like the sound so that seems a little silly. I swapped the neck for a Fender Strat neck with one of my friends. I've always liked the look of Strat headstocks on Teles. It had mismatched knobs so I threw some white chicken heads on it but I'm not sure that's the best idea.

Ideas?

If you don't know what to do with it and like the sound it has, why do anything?

Except change those knobs ASAP.

I think you're right about the knobs. As far as changing something, I just felt like it was lacking something visually...now that I think about it, it probably is the knobs though.

It does look a bit, uhh, plain?

New guard might do something, you could do like black on red with a matching stock it's what my jazzblaster is and I love it.

Black P. guard +1

If you like the pickups, then may I suggest an extremely classy Bigsby vibrato?

Wow! Thanks, both of those guards do look better. I think I'm leaning towards the black. I think that with a couple chrome knobs would definitely do the trick!

I've thought about the Bigsby too...I've already decided that if I come across one cheap I'll do it.

yea, It seems great how it is now, I like tele bridge pickups and neck humbuckers. It could use a tort guard though. that would look pretty nice.

+1 for the bronco knobs.

Haha Right.

Everything looks better with bronco knobs, though.
